第五十三章   唯施是畏

使我介然有知，行于大道，唯施是畏。大道甚夷，而民好徑。朝甚除，田甚蕪，倉甚虛；服文采，帶利劍，厭飲食，財(cái)貨有馀，是為盜夸。非道也哉！

Practicing is Tough

Even though I sensedthe universal intelligence, and wish that I would live in accordance with Tao,but I know it is very hard for people to be enlighteded tobehave within Tao.

The Great Way to Tao is very even,

yet people are addicted to bypaths.

Some abandon the rule of greetingtheir parents in the moring,

While the fields areexceedingly weedy, And the granaries are exceedingly empty.

Yet some wear embroideredclothes, carry fancy swords, over-indulge themselves with food and drink, andhave more possessions than they can use.

All thsese deeds are calledruining the Tao,

They are heading against theTao.

既使我確信自己感悟了宇宙萬物之本源，全力實(shí)踐大道，但深知弘揚(yáng)道德之任十分艱難。大道至深至簡，但人們卻喜歡走斜徑。有人除去早晨為父母請安的禮節(jié)而離家出走，田地荒蕪了，倉庫空虛了。還有些人則貪戀舒適的生活環(huán)境，追求名利而招搖過市，吃喝玩樂，而且為富不仁。

這兩類人都是在身外求道，欺世盜名，這都是背道而馳呀！
